Hey everyone, I don't know if it's my bandwidth consumption or if it's the actual site itself, but has anyone noticed WhaddupNow.com going offline more then occasionally?

Please post here and let me know if you're having the same troubles so I can find out how to fix it.

ya i check the site quite often, actually only less because of the decline in traffic, but the last couple of days the site was unreachable or extremely slow, also we've had another wave of spam, any chance u can mod me, lol

Woah...the past 2 days can't be right because I've been on it. I know this morning I had a 3 hour span that the site was crawling or unreachable, but I never saw anything over the past two days.

I'll have to look more into it to see what's up. :(

/sigh...

I'm going to sign up for the site uptime site I use. The free account checked every 30 minutes but that's not giving me any good data because if it works if only for 5 minutes when it makes its ping, it shows as up. When I get a subscription it will ping every 5 minutes and then I can set how many pings I allow to be down before it notifies me.

Mega bummed about hearing that though. I moved hosts with hopes to stop this. I guess I can't really blame them too much though since I typically on average use 5% - 10%, more towards 10%, of the CPU resources on the machine I'm on. :p

After Shake Like an Earthquake I was hitting 60% machine usage. :p I had to tone down the Gallery functions a bit since they mailed me and complained.

Just in case anyone wanted to know what was going on when my site goes down, you can check out the status page here: http://www.dreamhoststatus.com/

I've also got an off site uptime check letting me know if my servers go out for more then 20 minutes.

damn you were already prepared, now your going all out

not to be a buzz kill, but sometimes the front page loads plain in firefox 2.0.2, don't kno if its me, fx, or the host, but i remember it being prettier, lol

*edit* i realized it might be the theme, subSilver does what I mentioned, the whaddupnow theme looks a lot better, but they both also have a safe-mode'ish look to the icons n stuff, don't worry about it too much, lol

grab an umbrella drink and kick your feet up on the server box, you deserve some rest, lol

Honestly........

I'm waiting for version 3.0.x to come out.

I really don't want to go through all the work jut to have to redp everything again when 3.0.x comes out. It's in beta 5 right now so the next push should be RC1, which I believe that means that it's safe for live. They'll only be ironing out the last few bugs that they find when everyone's using it and reporting what they see in live environments.

The style theme in 3.0.x is friggin' BOMB! You can create image sets, so instead of having to upload images to new templates, or only being able to use 1 set of images you can totally customize it to whatever you want. The cool thing about this is that if you have 1 style, and 7 image sets you technically can set up 7 different themes! I'm sooooo looking forward to that and all the cool features that come with it!

Naw, that's totally chill, that's exactly what I want to know so I can see if there's a way to fix it. There's no point in having a web page if I'm the only one that can see it correctly. :)
