Space Opera Pictures
First and foremost, special thanks go out to
Neo Sapiens and all the crews that helped out the event. It was totally fun hanging out helping setup and seeing all the work that goes into an event.
The doors opened at 4:00 PM to set up camp and the first stage started playing music around 6:00 PM to get some tunes going in the air. There were two main stages for House and Trance, with four other stages for Hardcore, Drum & Bass, Goa Trance, and Happy Hardcore. I was especially happy that they had a Happy Hardcore area since they are rare at outdoor events.
Every area was set up in probably the most perfect way as to allow for maximum dance space as well as not having a cross fade of noise between two different stages. The only areas that were semi difficult to get to were the Goa Trance area if you walked directly across the rock query and the Happy Hardcore area because there was no real light showing that anything was back near the junkyard. All in all I was still very impressed with the setup.
At 9:00 PM all the
WhaddupNow crew headed over to listen to
Feverdream as he's pretty much our favorite DJ. After his set I shot around to the other stages and took pictures of everyone having fun, the only bummer is that the wind mixed with everyone dancing caused there to be a lot of dirt in the air, which is why you see in most pictures specks, sparks, and weird water looking marks on all of the pictures taken with flash. I don't know if there are any filters that can take them out without damaging the crispness of the photos. Guess it's just an outdoor problem that just has to be pushed on through.
I got to bump into
Miss X-Mas in the DnB area, which was totally awesome since I have not seen her in forever! I also got to bump into
Danielle and
Love Bugg and was able to give
Love Bugg her
special kandy. On the way away from the House area I bumped into
Royal and was also able to give him his
special kandy! It's so much fun watching people's faces when you give them kandy, and it's even better when you make something especially for them.
On my way to the Trance area I bumped into
Meeeshka who was glow stringing just like at Dream Again. We chatted and said hello until the
Speaker Junkies came on, and at that time the crowd went nuts!
It was insane, all of a sudden the Trance dance area filled up with hundreds of people all rocking out! After the
Speaker Junkies were done I went around for a bit trying to find a place I could charge my second camera battery since I was running low on juice. After walking around with
Groove trying to find out what we could do with no luck. I ended up wandering over to our little group spot to say hello and went into our tent to get comfortable...that was my fatal mistake...I passed out. When I woke up it was 8:00 AM and to my surprise a lot of people had on upped and left.
I spent the rest of the morning helping people and scouting for some pictures. When I hit the House stage
Badger informed me that Freeman and Jonathan Morning were doing a 4x4 set together. It was definitely some nice tunes to have in the morning after waking up.
Around 4:00 PM the
Neo Sapiens crew and all sub-contracted crews (thanks Noon) all went around and started to pickup the aftermath of the party.
Overall in the end this party was a blast! Everyone in
WhaddupNow and Stegosaurs EXcellent crew all had fun. I'd really like to thank the whole
Neo Sapiens crew, especially
Philippe and
Pacman, for setting up this rave and having the vision to start up this new event. I'd also like to thank all the crews that did help out because I know there were so many more there that I don't know the names of, but you all know who you are, so big special thanks to you too!
