Zelda 2: The Rebirth of Rave Pictures
Wow. What a weekend. Here I am sitting at work on MONDAY with nothing to do... so I'm finally writing this review
Zelda. Overall, it was a pretty good party. Things started off early, I showed up around 8:30 with Strech and J-Money and was special enough to be the first person in the groovetickets line, waaahooo. The security was super chill, I managed to make friends with three of them before they even let us in.
Once inside (being the first 'paying' raver) I proceeded to do a whole bunch of nothing except walk around and figure out how to use Obvious's camera... seeing as he had neglected to give me a crash course in its use. Eventually I resorted to calling him (I'm good with electronics, but hey... I was a little 'handicapped') and then I could get started.
People slowly trickled in for the better part of 3-4 hours, somewhere around 500 at the peak. The music was great in my opinion, but then again I have a soft spot for anything happy... as we can always expect from KOTC. Two areas, the main warehouse had been converted into one giant room (compared to Ohana last weekend) and they had opened a little backdoor alleyway for a second area. It was a little small, but we're used to improvising...
I must say that one thing that stood out at this party was the quality of lightshow! There were a LOT of people who could do really neat stuff when given the proper motivation...
I was even asked to judge a two person lightshow competition, *honored*. It took me the better part of a couple hours to get into the picture taking groove, but somewhere around midnight I came out of my shell, and didn't put the camera away once. The next couple of hours were a blur, bouncing from one area to another... I met quite a few really cool people, Custom, Smokey the Bear, (another) Sparrow... I really can't remember a whole lot, I was too busy having fun!
Then, as goes with most good parties, somewhere around 2:30 I heard the first "the cops are here" rumor... and about 3 minutes later they killed the music. The ghetto bird was lighting up the outside area and there were almost a dozen cruisers out in the street. Another eventful end to another fantastic night!
I'll fill in more blanks as I get time and/or remember them... back to work *sigh*
<3 PLURness!
