We got to the Alexandria Hotel at around 9:40 PM and the line had already made it down to the end of the block. The line didn’t move very fast, but it usually never does so there were no complaints on it. Security did their jobs in a speedy fashion; it didn’t feel like getting violated so all was good when we got in 45 minutes later.Black Ice wrote:Wow, ok, so I said I was going to write a review later, I just didn’t think I was going to mean almost a week later. Sorry for the delay but it appears that sometime over the weekend I managed to catch not only the flu, but strep throat as well! I’ll tell you what, that is a mighty mean combination. I can usually work through most sicknesses, but I was seriously bedridden for two whole days! What’s the lesson to be learned you ask yourself? Why am I giving this little rant? Take your vitamin C, Echinacea, or airborne before you go party with a bunch of people.
Inside was the lobby which was allowed to be used as a sitting / cool off area, which was a great idea and should always be done that way, though I do understand why they didn’t at Nightmare B4 X-Mas. The Alexandria is still a hotel and guests need access to the lobby, though as the night went on I heard from friends that people left requesting refunds due to the noise.
From what I saw they had 3 main dance areas, main downstairs, upstairs, and third floor. I’ve got to say having the access to the third floor was flipping awesome because you could watch from above and see the action, or quickly fall back into the hardcore room. This is where I came to find myself drawn to for most of the night. The flyer said there was a 4th dance floor area, and there was an area set up in the bar, but in my mind it made it limited to the 21+ crowd. /shrug
The night went on very well every place was filled with good music, friendly fun vibes, and great people. The place did have a lot of police officers, but it’s better to be safe then sorry as a promoter since all it takes is one person to mess things up. The event finally wrapped up at 5:00 AM. It was a totally vivacious party and would go again.
