Victoria's Secret Valentine's Rave
The Pro's and Con's...
Pro: I had 2 people from the Whaddup Now crew and Swee-Tee was there. Eventually several others from the main scene showed up and mad the end of our night fun.
Con: It was hosted at Lyrics. I have never been to the venue before this but it just didn't feel the same as normal raves. It felt more like a night club rather then a rave. The heat factor wasn't too bad, not as bad as I've heard, but the music kept cutting out over and over all night. There were a few other problems, but...whatever.
The night started off slow...real slow. After spending two hours there I had only taken 20 photos, which in 2 hours is not normal for me. During the night the two open sections had some good music, though I chose the back area because it felt more raver-ish, then the front.
Eventually a few people that I knew from the scene showed up and made things a lot more enjoyable, not to mention they opened up a third room and the music was really starting to get good. We saw Royal outside and chatted a bit which was cool cause it made things fun. Around 2:00 AM a fight broke out in the third area, which I assume was Drum and Bass. This fight started on stage in front of everyone over someone bumping someone else. The bumpee bumped the bumper back, and fists started flying. The fight was broken up, but not for long because someone wanted revenge. Well the fights happened one more time after the rematch when one of the two was finally escorted out. All in all it was crazy and I was shocked how I was smack dab in the middle of all 3 fights.
Finally around 2:30 AM we had decided that it was time to go, but Swee-tee wanted to hear some of Nemo's set, so we chilled for another 20 minutes before finally heading out. All in all I think we all left kind of disappointed...oh well. We've got Event Horizon tomorrow! See you there!
