Ravers Guide to the Galaxy Pictures
What a unique night Ravers Guide to the Galaxy was. It started off with Swee-tee, Freckles, Schwez, and I at my house heading out at around 7:15 PM. We drove up to LA from Orange County and on the way up I totally spaced thinking about directions and we ended up missing the 101 North. No biggie, we'll just whip a U turn and head back.
On our way back down for some reason we didn't see the 101 but saw the 10 West and knew that the 10 West heads East and West and should run into the 101 North since directionally that "should" work. Thing is no one in the car ventures up to LA much and we didn't realize that the 10 West is SOUTH of the 101 North, so...
We ended up driving on the 10 West until we saw the 110 North. At this Schwez mentioned that the 110 North crossed the 101 North from a previous rave we went to. I didn't remember what he was talking about and was starting to get annoyed with being lost so we took the next exit and I called my friend to try and get directions. God bless his heart, but he must have been on crack (or I was) because I didn't get his directions at all. All I knew that he said is that the 110 North hit the 101 North and to make a left in Pasadena...whatever. We jumped on the 110 North and finally hit the 101 North. Woo hoo!
Once on the 101 North everyone in the car was a bit ancy since we had wasted a bunch of time driving in circles. To make things worse a series of dramamatic things happened in the car killing everyone's moods that much more. Eventually we ended up at the rave around 9:49 PM. Map Quest says it should take 1 hour 45 minutes to make the trip that took us 2 hours 30 minutes. Bleh...
Once inside the rave things got better for some, but not for all. To save everyone involved from online drama, let’s just say I had fun taking pictures of new people. The warehouse that was used was pretty kick ass. Sure it wasn't fancy, didn't have an official bar, but felt ravish. It looked like it was a warehouse that was used to fix cars or something; like a make shift garage or something. It didn't have any hydraulic lifts so it probably wasn't a garage, but just felt like one.
Any who, there were several cars inside the place and two dance floors separated by a wall which would technically would have been two warehouse / garages. The two floors were joined by a tarped off area where it would have been the main entrance. Both areas had their pros and cons, but I spent most of my time in the first area. Thee-O threw down a wicked sick set!
In the first area there was Jester's Hooka Lounge. I got to say, that's a pretty sick ass idea to have at a rave. I personally thought that was cool and so did quite a few people. It's like having a bar at a rave but adds some more choices of entertainment for those not 21. I enjoyed the rave, and met a few new people who I hope to see at future events.
The night ended early for us for several reasons, but all in all I think most of us ended up having a decent time. I love all three of you guys, but as the saying goes..."Can't we all just get along?"
P.L.U.R.R. and peace out everyone!
See you at How Sweet It Is!
