Return 2006 Pictures

Ok...wow...what an epic adventure this weekend was!

Sparrow, Stretch and I showed up to Return 2006 early around 12:00 PM to help One World One Dance set up. The front gate was closed and locked. We decided to walk the rest of the way since our cell phones didn't get reception, and Sparrow and Stretch figured it shouldn't be too far to walk. As we started walking down we heard a car coming up from behind us so we turned around with hopes that he had a key to unlock the gate. When we got back there we met one of the sound techs for the night who's name was John. We did a meet and greet, but found out that he too was in the same situation as us. We decided that we'd walk and if someone did unlock the gate he would pass us and let us know so we could go back for our car.

Well one and a half miles uphill, six streams (All were Gold Creek), and 40 minutes later we got to the party. :P When we got there Shadow let us know that he meant we could come early on Friday to help out...doh!...and because they were mostly done that he didn't want people there early and decided that he needed someone to man the gate. Feverdream and Turtle volunteered to hold post with us so we all went back up to the front gate to man it for people coming early. We got back to the gate around 1:00 PM and chilled there playing Mad Lib's and eating some snacks to pass the time. It was definitely a lot of fun and was a great way to start feeling the vibes for the party.

Around 3:30 PM the first car of people not associated with crew showed up and out popped Amuck, Shade, and Amuck's little brother. We chilled with them until 4:00 PM when the gate security showed up. We bolted back to camp because Feverdream was going to be playing on the main stage at 5:30 PM. When we got back to camp Sparrow and Stretch were already setting up the tent with the Keri watching. When the tent was finally up, we were informed that we had to move it behind the trees. Ha ha ha ha, that sucked! Well, we moved it easier then we thought it would be and got it set back up once more.

Once camp was set up it was picture taking time! From around 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM we just wandered around checking out the place. It was my first outdoor rave so I wanted to get a feel of what the place looked and felt like. At 7:00 PM the rest of our group (Noon, Froggie, J-Money, Two-O’clock, 1, 2, 3 and 4) showed up. They set up their tent and we started off our night!

It got dark around 7:45 PM and that's when the real fun began because it was dark enough to start up the photons and glow sticks. Woot woot! From around 8:30 PM until around 6:00 AM things were a massive blur of P.L.U.R.R.! So many fun and exciting moments that if I tried remembering them all to write them down my head would explode! It...was...awesome, non stop fun! The best singular word to describe it would be "Wow!"

Some of the most memorable moments during that time was glow-stringing to a crowd of people, helping out crew, hanging out with crew, meeting new people, seeing people I knew, taking pictures from behind stage, and hanging out all over the place taking pictures. A super special thanks goes out to Amuck for your extra binky. :D The music was intense and awesome. I was super happy to be able to make Feverdream's set as I missed most of it at Event Horizon 2006, and missed all of it a Prepare to Return. :(

Around 6:00 AM the sun started to rise up over the camp. It was really cool watching it go from dark, to dawn, to morning. Everyone was hanging out in our tents when around 8:00 AM I heard music that sounded really awesome. I ventured out to see who it was and when I was walking up I remembered that Thee-O was starting his set. I went down and took a picture and went back to tell everyone else that Thee-O was spinning. Most of us went down to listen to him jam, and once we were all back down there Thee-O kicked it up a notch into really kick ass tunes. We were in heaven!

The rest of the morning was spent walking around wishing that I had a place to charge my camera batteries as well as have a bigger 2 gigabyte flash card so I could take more pictures. Around 9:00 AM my body needed sleep. I had gotten a rough nights sleep Thursday, four hours sleep Friday, and no sleep Saturday so I crashed out in the tent. I finally woke up around 4:00 PM to find out that the cops were camping out searching cars and harassing people. To be safe the exit was closed off until everything was taken care of and clear.

We finally managed to pack everything up and get out around 7:00 PM. On the way home Sparrow and I calculated that the two of us and Stretch spent 31 hours at Return...good times! :D We finally got back to my house around 9:00 PM just in time to watch Family Guy at 9:30 PM. After that I spent the next 4 hours editing, cropping, and fixing the photos until I finally decided to upload the pictures and hopefully get them up when Sparrow left to go home.

I woke up this morning around 11:00 AM, went and had breakfast / lunch, and here I am now typing this review and posting the link to the pictures!

I hope you all had as much fun as I did and look forward to seeing you all at the next event!

Much P.L.U.R.R. and <3!
