Primal Trance 2006

Primal Trance 2006 Pictures

I ended up not getting out when I had planned partially because no one in my raver family was going and partially because I just needed a bit more recovery time from last night's Prepare to Return party. Any who, I ended up hitting up the Alexandria around 9:45 PM and saw that it wrapped around the front and almost half way to the side. I wasn't waiting in line more then a few minutes when an announce let us know that anyone with pre-sale tickets could go directly to the front of the line....awww yeah.

*Shoom* to the front I go!

Once up front I actually don't get my tickets right away. I saw Coyote and talked with her a while. During that time a nice gentleman inquired to what was going on. We engaged in friendly conversation about raves, P.L.U.R.R. and whatnot and it it went well. He was impressed with the knowledge I had and the willingness to just talk to him about it. I totally forget what magazine he ended up saying he worked for, but I think it was urban something. I guess he was looking for things to cover in the area, and I ended up being his lead. :P I then got my tickets and walked down a few blocks to the new location since the Alexandria Hotel was no longer available.

The place that we went to was apparently used in the movie Fight Club I don't really remember where it was from in the movie, but I think I overheard that it was supposed to be the room under the bar. The venue was cool, smaller then the Alexandria but it seemed ok...until more people kept coming...

I definitely did have fun throughout the night, but there was a time around midnight where things got ridiculously hot. It was so hot and humid that even with 17' high ceilings it started to rain. If you don't know what this means, no, it wasn't raining outside, but imagine this...if you put water in a jar and set it in the sun, you notice how the water evaporates and mists the inside of the jar and eventually droplets fall like rain...yeah, but that's inside a building. That wasn't cool. :?

Eventually security opened the back door which helped, but not enough. Finally towards the end around 2:00 AM or something they got a fan in there to bring in cool air and circulate it around the place. That helped a ton! Not to mention that around 2:00 AM the place wasn't sardine packed like it was. Anyone that went knows what I'm talking about.

From 2:00 AM everything was chill and fun. The only bummer from that point was they ran out of water, but that happened because of the head and inability to cool off the rooms. Any who, enough of the pack / heat woes, on to the fun stuff!

Thee-O's set was incredible! I bumped into Vision near the front and he was going all kinds of off the hookness. He really looked like he was having fun. PinkE was there also and she was getting down as well. The set was awesome and my lovely raver girls Hollywood and Breezey were showing everyone how to get down dancing on stage.

Later on during the night I got to swing by and listen to Kiddo's wicked sick set. The crowd was bumping, and everyone was getting crazy. It was definitely good times.

All in all the night was awesome, just wish it wasn't as hot, and I personally do like the Alexandria Hotel for a venue, just always have at any event that I've gone to. I think the most memorable funny thing that happened during the night was seeing Tigger wearing one set of clothes in the beginning of the night, and later seeing him in a different set of clothes. I asked how he performed this miracle, and apparently he went home, took a shower, and came back. Ha ha ha, nice.

Hope everyone that went had fun! Next week I'll be on party break since I'll be doing Greek Week events with my fraternity, but I hope to see you all at Return 2006!

Why thanks Thee-O!

I just try to highlight the good points and inform of the lows. There's no need to be negative and belittle anyone because people put a lot of hard work and effort into making these things.

If there wasn't so many obstacles to overcome and people just didn't put effort into making something work, then there might be a different story, but it sure isn't easy to get an event to work out the way you want it, especially events like these.

Being upbeat and positive is the way you gotta be to look at it. Plus if people really follow the way of P.L.U.R.R. then everything should work out that way anyway. The only misfortune in the scene is that not everyone brought into the scene is taught from the start about P.L.U.R.R. I think that if they were, right from the start, and people practiced it more often, we'd have a lot more happy ravers and a happier scene.

I am new, so I don't know much more then what I've researched, been told, red, learned, and experienced, but I have heard that the scene goes through different phases, and this is just one of the phases that it's going through. I look forward to it though, it's always nice seeing it differently because then you get to appreciate it more when it changes to another phase of what you like, and what you hope it to become again. :)
