Another weekend.... another CLASSIC outdoor. 3 areas, 1000 people. GREAT music, good security, and too much fun in general
Myself and Noon made a point of going to this party a few weeks ago when we found out it was Feverdream's birthday party.. but it almost didn't happen. Don't you ever wish you can be in two places at once? Well.. it was one of those situations.
Anyways, we were there nice and early, around 5pm. Now, we must be moving up in the world here at Whaddupnow because I was given a spot on the guest list! I must thank Feverdream for that one as I'm not one to complain about saving a few bucks. Once we had the tent set up, it was time to survey the surroundings. Compared to Return, I liked the setup a little better this time. The stages were in better spots, as were the vendors and such. The party seemed to move more 'freely' than what I was used to for Gold Creek Ranch. The weather was beautiful, the party kids were arriving... it was shaping up to be a great night.
As with most parties, most of the night was a blur for me. I can recall specific moments, such as Hypnotic Starr's set (amazing!), the little undercover N2O bust that happened right next to our car (ouch!), or walking back to the tent to find a random pair of ravers sleeping in the corner (plur!). Everything inbetween, well, lets just say it was fun. The only downside was that a lot of my friends were at Shark Tales (maybe I needed to be in three places last night) so there were a bunch of faces I never saw. For the ones who did come.. YEAH!
It's all fun and games until the camera dies though. Being the pleasantly absent-minded individual that I can be at times I had forgotten the battery charger. Between the 3 sets that I had brought, and a hookup from the guys' at the vendor table (thanks!!) I had an endless supply of batteries that wouldn't even give enough juice for the camera to turn on. I nursed them through the night, but by the time morning came, the memories had to end. I was shooting for 400 pics for the night, mostly so I could rub it in Obvious's face... but that must wait... for now. I did, at least, capture a good part of the action.
People started to leave once the sun came up, but the party didn't slow down til way later. There was still a small crowd around each stage come breakfast time. I made a point of mingling for the rest of the time seeing as my camera was about as useful as a dead glowstick... at some point mid-day after Feverdream spun 1 1/2 hours of killer psy trance on the main stage, we packed up camp and headed home.
Thats about it... as always I'll post up more bits as they come back to me. Another awesome night... thanks to Underground Sound, 1W1D.. all of the DJ's, partygoers, and everyone else who helped make it possible!!!
PLURness
